WestJet was founded by Clive Beddoe, David Neeleman, Mark
Hill, Tim Morgan, and Donald Bell in 1996. He used to believe that if you pay
less for your flight; it does not mean that you should get less. At the beginning,
WestJet had three aircrafts and five destinations but now it has more than 88
destinations. On 29 February, 1996, the first WestJet flight serves Edmonton,
Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna, and Winnipeg. But in the end of 1996, company had
added Victoria, Saskatoon, and Regina to its operations. WestJet is currently Canada’s
second largest air carrier, having a venture of average 424 flights and taking
over 44000 passengers daily.
WestJet is rapidly growing as compare to other airlines in North America. There is a sustainable growth is the business by providing better services to their customers. Actually, the WestJet Company treated their customers like guests. They give top priority to their customers with safety and security. WestJet has keen interest in corporate social responsibility and always try to minimize its impact on the environment thus reflecting a positive impact on the community and our society. This investment in corporate social responsibility has lead WestJet to a very loyal customer base. Their customer knows their investment is ultimately leading to a contribution to the society. WestJet with such an effective approach and great customer service is one of future airline force to be reckoned.
