Amazing Promotional Stratergy

Having promotional strategies ready at all times is a necessary tool. Marketing your product is not an easy job it requires effective plan and to implement it. WestJet with its last promotion in Christmas will be remembered in ages. They pulled out such an amazing promotion that no one ever thought or have any idea that it can happen. It was referred to as WestJet Christmas Miracle.

In this event WestJet asked its guests at the Toronto Pearson Airport about their wishes for last Christmas. They had a big LCD screen on which a man made Santa Clause ask about thier wishes. Customers thought it was only merely for fun and they told their wishes. Some ask for TV, socks, headphones etc. As the flight reached its destination at Calgary Airport, customers were tired and went to collect their baggage. Instead of receiving their bags they recieved all the gifts they wished for. Even if it was too expensive, WestJet provided all what they wanted. This cheered up all the customers and all were very happy. It was an awesome moment as you can see from this video below:




This strategy caught a huge positive word of mouth and its youtube video got almost 7 million hits the very next day. This promotion ultimately resulted in high loyalty of thier customers and the ones going with other airline also opt to choose its services. This was a very smart move by WestJet to capture the hearts of its consumers. Surely, this miracle will be remembered for ages.

Introduction

WestJet was founded by Clive Beddoe, David Neeleman, Mark Hill, Tim Morgan, and Donald Bell in 1996. He used to believe that if you pay less for your flight; it does not mean that you should get less. At the beginning, WestJet had three aircrafts and five destinations but now it has more than 88 destinations. On 29 February, 1996, the first WestJet flight serves Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna, and Winnipeg. But in the end of 1996, company had added Victoria, Saskatoon, and Regina to its operations. WestJet is currently Canada’s second largest air carrier, having a venture of average 424 flights and taking over 44000 passengers daily.


WestJet is rapidly growing as compare to other airlines in North America. There is a sustainable growth is the business by providing better services to their customers.
